Reality
Reality is our perception of life.
Our perceptions are what we believe and our beliefs are coloured. They are coloured by what others tell us and the circumstances of our life. When we have beliesfs of how things are and something happens that is different and outside of those perceptions then we have a dilemma. How we handle these challenges will determine our progress. If we can accept that our reality will be challenged we can then take the steps needed to develop the necessary tools to handle these unavoidable changes. A changing reality that will take us to another place and with the right attitude, make us a better person for the experience. Let life be an adventure and love its many contradictions.
Most of us make futile attempts to create safe and secure lives when in the end it is all going to be taken away from us. So why? Change is inevitable.
Learn to live a good life amongst the hatred. Learn to live a generous life in a greedy world.
Learn to be a free spirit when we are controlled by religion, big business, governments and drugs.
Learn to accept what you are even though others put you down.
Learn to find good things when it is difficult to do so.
Learn to be positive when you are surrounded by indecision.
Learn to sense that you are more than flesh and blood. Learn to feel the existence of something greater than you.
Do not resist change embrace it. Serenity comes from a heightened perception of self. Part of us wants to be warm, cosy, comfortable, happy and secure but another part wants excitement and fun. It is our reaction to things that determines what they are. Expectancy sets up the possibility of failure. Accept that things will happen that you may not like. If you can leave them be, with no mind, do so. If you need to do something about them, do so with the right emotional attachment and in a way that needs to be done. Life has quality, if it evolves in its natural order. It is our conditioned responses that cause the wrong expectations in life. We expect what we are told is important and when we don’t get it we react badly. But if we accept and understand that we are constantly learning about ourselves we will take the right measures that will achieve the best results even though things do not always go the way we planned. When the way is unsure and you don’t know what to do, doing nothing, until you do know what to do.
Life is not always soft, so don’t let yourself become self-indulgence about your problems. Set about fixing them without conventional expectations.
